CAROLA UEHLKEN is a curator, artist and writer. Her research focuses on systems of governance and the often bizarre and surreal apparatuses behind administration. Narratives carried by places and objects become tools to reflect on their linguistic implications. She is interested in possible readings of alternative pasts and futures and encourages narratives that enable critical perspectives in all their complexity. She collaborates with contemporary art institutions, advises international art collections, organises workshops and exhibitions and supports independent projects between art, science and society. She is writing and publishing in artists catalogues, magazines and independent publishing platforms.
She studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Art in Muenster, Art History, German Literature and Language and was part of the interdisciplinary Master Program Cultural Poetics and Comparatistic Literature at the University of Muenster.
